When should you reserve and for what time of the year?
In view of the high demand at certain times of the year and the limited number of rooms at Le Maquis, we recommend to book well in advance. The hotel is open from March to early January each year.

At any season, Corsica enjoys special climatic conditions. Each season has its secrets and they all have something to offer. Without dwelling on the obvious advantages of the summer despite the crowds on the coast, the exceptional sunshine and mild climate of the less crowded off-seasons should not be forgotten.
From April to June, the bush is in flower and gives off the perfumes of spring while the beaches receive their first visitors. Then from September to early November, away from the noise and the stress, to celebrate autumn at Le Maquis is to enjoy the most beautiful low season with the last rays of the Mediterranean sun.
Lastly, winter lets you breathe the pure bracing air of the nearby mountains whose snow-capped peaks make a dramatic contrast and invite you to enjoy a walk and return at evening to the cosy atmosphere of your Home, snuggling between sea and mountain.

Whatever the season, it is a total change of scenery from the grey tints of daily life and transports you to the happiness of the fragrant lights of the South.

Weather
Corsica enjoys a Mediterranean climate influenced by altitude, latitude, the surrounding sea and winds. The island's bright, sun-drenched summers are extremely hot (maximum 36°C) and dry, while winters are particularly mild on the coast (18°C). In Spring the weather is already hot and the air full of flower flagrances. Autumn is pleasant up to an altitude of 600 meters. There is an exceptional amount of sunshine year round. Ajaccio, with 2900 hours of sunshine per year, holds the French record.
Winter (December to March): 13°C to 15°C ... with cool evenings (average water temperature: 14°C).
Spring and Autumn (April, May, October and November): 18°C to 25°C...light clothing (average water temperature: 15°C to 20°C).
Summer (June to September: 25°C to 35°C...very light clothing (average water temperature: 21°C to 25°C).

Before setting off:
Remember to pack your favourite swimming costume, sun creams and sun glasses (above all for the children) but don't bother to bring towels or beach bags which you will find in your room.

For workaholics, if you wish to do your holiday homework with your laptop, our wifi cover is free throughout the hotel (even on the beach…), as is the loan of Netbooks (mini-PC) for a spot of web surfing or to pick up your emails and keep in touch with civilisation... In addition, our business centre with printer is there for you to use free of charge.
